Firstly someone special have come into my life. Making a huge change in my lifes. Thank god for that.

Having my most difficult time at work. Make me wish the weekend is longer.

8th August 2008 8pm mark the opening of the Olympic 2008 at China. It is suppose to be a very good date. Everyone wanted to rush home to enjoy the Opening of Olympic 2008 at China and I'm one of them. The result is, it have cause a massive jam on that nite. End up this is what I see on 8pm, 8th August 2008.

The worst is while I'm trap in the jam I need to PEE !!!!!!!.......So I came out from my car and walk to the nearest toilet I can find. While look for the toilet, I took this photo.

Nokia N82

Just bought myself a new handphone, Nokia N82. You will never get lost with Nokia N82 GPS feature. The map for KL is quite accurate but I find it difficult to search for places with it. Overall I find the GPS feature quite useful specially when you are lost.

Another feature I like with this phone is the WIFI connection. Now I can surf or chat online with my phone for free. Now that there are so many places with free WIFI connection. KL just launch wireless@kl which give free WIFI connection around KL area for 2 years. It also come with 3G feature but with WIFI, I didn't bother to turn on the 3G connection.
This phone come with 5MB camera with Carl Zeiss lens and xenon flash. Here are some of the sample photos I took with this phone.

Thing I dislike about this phone is that the loudspeaker is at the site of the phone. If you used loudspeaker when you chat and holding it at the same time, your fingers may block part of the speaker. The other thing is the battery finish quite fast, specially when you use GPS or WIFI.

Found this are Low Yatt. It can hold up to 4 AA battery, since my flash only need 4 AA battery. This cover work just fine for me. It only cost RM5. It also has a indicator if the battery is fully charge or empty

Just bought the Nikon SB800 speed light along with the lambency diffuser.

The lambency diffuser also come with two color dome, white and orange.

Since now I got a flash and the lambency diffuser is kind of big, therefore I bought a bigger bag to fit all my gadget. This Bagman bag is just the right size for me. Not too big but big enough to fit all my gadget at the same time look stylist.

Was at The Curve, took some photos of their Chinese New Year decoration. So happen there are lion dance performances when I was there. Not the best I have seen but is the most lion I see together to perform.

My latest gadget, Panasonic SDR-H250. Bought it at Trillion, Mid Valley for RM2499 on the camcorder kits. Bought extra battery for RM200 and a lens filter for RM38.

Panasonic SDR-H250 used HDD or SD card for the media recording. The HDD size is 30GB and the package come with a 512MB SD card.

It also consist of 3CCD sensor for 3 different color. These make the color of the video better. The lens used is leica lens.

The sales person throw in a tripod, a cleaning kit set and a travel bag... free.

Wanted to buy these two books for a very long time but didn't step into a bookshop for a very long time. Only recently I started to buy photography magazine, I started to go bookshop to look for the magazine.

I was at Popular when I saw these two books. By looking at the cover of the books, first thing that come into my mind is that it must some comic making fun of "Sunzi's Art of war". But it is not some funny comic. The book explain Sunzi's war strategies in a graphical way. Is very nice to read. Both the books is by Wang Xuanming.

Haven't read "36 Stratagems" yet, therefore can't talk much about it.

No much people at 1 Utama, I guess most of the people is away from KL.

R.I.P. My Aztech modem

Didn't know what happen to the modem on Friday night. Came home after work and found that the modem got no power. Done a few test and confirm modem spoiled. Since in the morning it was raining heavily, it maybe fried by lighting.

Since I need to level up my online game character, took the car key and drove to Digital Mall at Section 14. Bought the Dlink DSL-2640T wireless router modem.

The performance is slightly slower compare to the Aztec modem. Not sure if the slowness is due to Streamyx or the new router modem.

I'm RM46 poorer

Was at The Curve looking for some photography magazine and then I'm hungry. This is where I get RM46 poorer, Shilla the Korean buffet restaurant.

It is just like Shotgun buffet restaurant but got more beef dishes. Normally, the lunch/dinner cost about RM56 on Saturday and Sunday. Weekdays is cheaper for lunch. Can't remember the price for lunch. Due to Ramadhan period it is now cost RM46 per person on weekends.

The one thing you can find here and not other Japanese buffet restaurant (Referring to the restaurant I went to only) is the fruit chocolate.
In the end, didn't get to buy the magazine but I'm RM46 poorer and gain a few KG.

Sunway Pyramid

Lately almost every shopping area are expanding. For example, One Utama expanded it's shopping area, Ikea and The Curve open next to each other, Pavilion just open at Bukit Bintang, The Garden open next to Mid Valley and now Sunway Pyramid are also expanding their shopping area.

When I was there only a few shops are open. One of them are Jusco. Spend most of the time at Sunway Pyramid shopping in Jusco and of course take some photos of the new expanded area. Didn't really fully explore the new area due to not much shops open. Here are the photos I took when I was there.

The Garden

Another newly open shopping Mall, The Garden. It is located right next to Mid Valley mall. You can park at Mid Valley and walk across to The Garden. Since is just a walking distant that is what I did. Go to the entrance near Starbucks coffee and you can see The Garden right opposite it. Currently there are still a lot of shops not open. Most of them are under renovations. In no time, these place going to be pack with people.

Mid Valley already very jam during the weekend and sometime weekdays also pack with people. It is going to make these place more happening with another shopping mall. Here are some of the photos I took at The Garden.

Mid Autumn Festival 2007

On the 15th day in the 8th month of Chinese calendar is the day we celebrate Mid Autumn Festival where we eat mooncake, drink Chinese tea, put up lantern
and look at the full moon. Aaahhhh... full moon..... is an opportunities for me to try out my bazooka with super dupee VR. This is my second attempt on taking a photograph of the moon. The first attempt was using my 18-55mm lens and is a failure. Here are the few photos I taken of the moon.

Pavilion the new shopping mall in town. The size of the mall is slightly bigger then KLCC, well I feel is bigger then KLCC.

Here are some of the photos I took. First time shooting fashion show and again a lot of the photos didn't turn out good. I was standing very far away from the stage with my new VR bazooka. My hand was shaking like mad but the VR safe the day. Even with the super dupee VR a lot of the photos still turn out blur.

Bulan Ramadan

Every year during bulan Ramadan, a lot of people will gather at Kelana Jaya right before buka puasa to buy foods and drinks. The place will fill with cars and people.

Look at the number of cars park at the road site. This photo is taken around 4:30pm, two hour before buka puasa.

Even Maxis was here to join in the fun.

At my friend house in the evening, the Sun light is making the building glowing. It catches my eyes. My D40x was not with me at that time so I take out my Nokia 6680 to take the photo.

Nikkor 18-200mm F3.5-5.6G VR

Finally I bought myself a bazuka lens that cover 18-200mm with vibration reduction.

This bazuka have cost me RM2458. Going to eat bread for the whole month.

The Hoya Pro1 UV filter cost me about RM159. Pro1 UV filter technology was develop 2 years ago where as the normal Hoya filter was develop 20 years ago. It suppose to be slightly thinner and better then the normal Hoya UV filter. Well, that's what the sales person said.

Now I can keep my water pistol in my DIY dry box. It is a good lens. For macro shot, it is slightly better then the 18-200 lens. Still going to use it for macro shot.

Malaysia International Firework Competition 2007 - Italy Team

This is my first time shooting firework, didn't really turn out good. Maybe next time it will get better.

The event is held at Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC). My journey start about 8:30pm from Puchong, at that time the road already crowded with cars. Traffic jam at the toll toward Putrajaya.

Got lost trying to find PICC by the time I found PICC is already 9:30pm. People already start double parking at the road site. Once found a parking, we walk straight to PICC by then the time is already 9:45pm. Without wasting any more time we stop at a field and set up my camera.

10pm sharp the firework by Italy team start. The display last about 20 minutes. Right after the firework finish, everyone around rush back to their car. Seeing everyone rushing, me also start packing and rush to my car too. By the time we reached where I park my car, people already triple parked.

I reached home about 12:30am...... I was stuck in the traffic for 2 hours.

Kelana Jaya's Merdeka event

My first Merdeka event at my neighbourhood. They have games, fun run around the neighbourhood, food and prizes. The event is held on the day where I can sleep until late morning and no one to disturb me (Sunday) therefore I miss the fun run. By the time I reach the place prizes already given out but there are still some games on going.

Most of the participants are kids from the near by schools.

One of the games for the parents or teachers. Can't really tell if they are the parent or teacher.

Even the fun run event is over, there are still many prizes to be given out.

The weather is so hot so I didn't stay too long to see what are the up coming events. I heard there are karaoke competition. (It rain later in the evening)

There are foods and drinks for sales.

When I told this photo, the speaker are playing loud music. Wonder how loud the teacher have to speak when teaching them.

This coming 31st August 2007 will be Malaysia 50th celebration of independent day. You can see posters and flags being put up everywhere you go.

Bon Odori 2007

Last weekend I attended Bon Odori festival at Matsushita Corp Stadium, Shah Alam. Bon Odori is a Japanese Buddhist festival to honor the departed spirits of one's ancestors. In Malaysia it is not so much associated with Buddhism but more with Japanese culture.

Visitor can only enter to the stadium after 5pm and the dancing celebration only start 7pm. To make sure I got a parking space not far away from the entrance, I reach Matsushita Stadium around 5:15pm and I already have to walk so far before reach the entrance.

At the entrance , visitor are given a fan to cool down a little under the hot sun. Look at the amount of fan they are giving away. Ohh yeah you can't wear high heel to the stadium.

Since the dancing only start 7pm, what do you do between 5pm to 7pm. Well these is what you do eat, eat and eat. Yep, there are foods everywhere.

In the middle of the stadium is the stage where the drummer and dancer going to perform.

About 6:45pm everyone is getting ready for the dance to start. The dancer and the drummer all posing near the stage for people to take picture.

They are so many Pro-photographer with their bazooka camera. Make my D40x look like water gun only.
When the dance start everyone at the field dance along. Everyone look so enjoy, specially those next to the Japanese babes .....hehehehehe.....

Home make dry box

Due to low budget. Buying a dry cabinet or a dry box is out of question for now. That is why I make my own so call dry box. Since I'm making one , I'm going to make a big one that can fit all my camera equipments including those items that don't need to be dry. Like the camera bag, cleaning set and others.

A dry box is actually an air tight box with hygrometer and dehumidifier. We should keep the camera equipments under 40%- 55% humidity (recommended).

This is the box i purchase from Carrerfour for RM20. A proper dry box should be air tight but this is not a air tight box. Can't find one air tight box that can fit all my stuff. This will do for now.

This is the digital hygrometer I bought from pet shop for RM30.

It has a remote sensor that I can put inside the camera bag where I stored my D40x. This way i can monitor the humidity inside the bag too.

This is an analog hygrometer also bought from pet shop that cost only RM9. I used it to monitor the humidity of the box.

These are the silica gel (dehumidifier). I put this inside my camera bag where I keep my camera. to control the humidity inside the bag. It cost me RM4 each pack.

This is another dehumidifier - Thirsty Hippo. Contain calsium chloride that absorb vapour.

I got enough dehumidifier to keep my room dry... wahahahahhaha.....

With this set up. I can keep the humidity between 40%- 55% even without an air tight box. Once the humidity go more then 55%, is time to change the Thirsty Hippo.

My new toy

This is my latest toy Nikon D40X. I always wanted a DSLR but in the past a DSLR cost a bomb. Finally Nikon came out with D40X, an affordable DSLR. It cost me RM2550. It will keep me busy for sometime.

Jogoya is a japanese buffet restaurant located at Relish Floor of Starhill. The restaurant has the space of 30,000 square feet with seating for 580 guests.

They claim to have more then 200 kinds of cuisine of Japanese, Chinese, and Western style and they don’t limit the amount you can consume. But I don't really see that much. All their dainty chinaware is from the famous Jing Teh Town. I can't really tell if the chinaware is from Jing Teh or Petaling Street.

They provide seats for lovers with amenity.

500 Arhats

Far far away somewhere in Putra Puchong, there is a place called Sau Seng Lum which held an exhibition of 500 Arhats. The 500 Arhats were displayed in two different halls. The first hall displayed the water Arhats and the second hall displayed the sky Arhats. I don't really know what are the differences between the two types of Arhats.

Unfortunately they didn't allow people to take pictures inside, so I only managed to take the photo of the outside of the building.

Starbucks and maple story

It was a Sunday morning and I had nothing to do. Since I'm so crazy about the online games Maple story. I went to Starbucks bought a hot chocolate and played Maple Story. Well not actually play the game. I just wanted to transfer some items in the game to my bro's account. Yes, my bro is playing the game too.

I think I'll just buy a router modem next time. It'll be cheaper that way. The hot chocolate cost me RM8.93.

My tablet PC is so slow, it takes me half a day to login to TimeNet, patch the maple game, login to Maple story, transfer the items and also to write this blog. I could have just stayed at home to write this blog rather then spend half a day to do it but since I paid RM8.93 for the hot chocolate I wanted to fully utilize the network and air-con ...hehehehe.....

I so happen to be in Sungai Wang and there was a "Mega Sales" event where there were people dress up in robot costumes walking around and taking pictures with people.

It's 8:30am in the morning and the sun is blurred due to the haze!!! Well... every year we are hit by haze. View from my colleague's office. Almost noon and the sky is still dark.

Lucky this year I got one of this. It claims that it will clear the air in the room. I'm not sure if it will work but it does collect a lot of dust. Does that mean I don't have to clean my room??? Nah.. my mum will kill me if I don't. I got it for free when I purchased a water-heater for my new house. Free stuff doesn't last long. After using it for about a month, it broke down.

Putrajaya Lamp Post

When you got no where to go, nothing to see on the TV, no nice movie to watch, no games to play, no one around to fight with and nothing better to do: Here is something you can do to pass your time.

Take a day trip to Putrajaya and check out all their lampposts. There are all kinds of different lampposts in Putrajaya.

After all the lampposts hunting, head down to Alamanda shopping complex to have your lunch/dinner. I think it is the only shopping complex in Putrajaya at the moment and also the only place I can find food.

If you still have nothing to do and don't want to go home yet then go count flagpoles. After all the hunting and counting, I'm sure you are tired or bored... just go home and sleep.

All you can eat Dim Sum buffet

At J.W. Marriot, Putra Jaya restaurant Summer Palace they have an all you can eat dim sum buffet. It was a Sunday morning and all of us didn't eat breakfast. We were saving up our stomach space to be fill with all the delicious dim sum. There were so many different types of dim sum, I didn't even know what I was eating but they tasted good so why border.

I was planning to take some photos of the dim sum but was too hungry and when the food came we just bulldozed the dim sum into our stomach. No time to take any pictures.

The price for a person is about RM38++.

Lantern Carnival

Lantern Carnival was held at Bukit Jalil. The carnival had Shaolin Monk showing their kung fu, magic shows, Live telecast of the world cup, handicrafts and snacks from Xi An and Sze Chuan, China, China Acrobatic show etc.

The dragon lantern is the highlight of the carnival. It is built out of plates, bowls and cups. I'm not sure if you can still classify it as a lantern if it is make out of plates, bowls and cups.

Maple Story is one of the free online games. It is more like a RPG version of Super Mario, where you go around killing mushrooms, snaisl, pigs, pigs with ribbons etc.

You can choose to be a warrior, bowman, thief or magician. You can also form a group to do some quest to gain more experience. It also gives you the ability to chat with people online just like other online games.

You can also get MARRIED with other players in the game. I'm still wondering if you can get babies in the game and how many times can you get married.
